ENGL 1010 Spring 2015: Blog #1

Hi everyone,

I am Ms. Hanson; I look forward to meeting, learning, and growing with each of you this semester. No excuses. Let's all motivate each other to be our best selves!

You are to use this blog to discuss readings, writings, research, and experiences/issues arising from course content materials.

 A) Your introductory entry. One full post required. No partial credit if all steps are not completed.
  1. List your name; provide brief intro about yourself (1 paragraph minimum- 5 sentences + [but be succinct])
  2. Tell why you are taking this course or college courses in general (1-2 additional sentences).
  3. Email me at j.d.hanson@hotmail.com & jhanson@mscc.edu your first in class "doodle." Take a clear picture of it with a camera or cellphone. Get a friend in class to (and forward it to you) if you don't have a camera or phone. I will use them in a future blog post!
  4. Read this article: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=101727048 and build on the intro class discussion about doodling! (5 sentences).
  5. Type your paragraph for the http://thefirstline.com/ story (you wrote in class)!
  6. Be personal! Nothing is more boring than rote or robotic assignment completions (for the instructor or students)! Always put your full effort into your work. Think of it as a hobby, something you enjoy doing, or rather a gateway to your goals! Anything you attach your name to, you should have pride in.

----Ms. Hanson
